Superhumans Wanted entries

During their Year of Disability, Channel 4 launched their Superhumans Wanted campaign – a competition offering £1 million of commercial airtime to brands, media and creative agencies who featured disability in their advertising campaigns. At JustGiving, we see thousands of incredible and inspirational stories every year, and we see how communities come together to support good causes.

We entered with two routes, which I put together visually (at the very last minute!). Entry 1 is in script form – a 'heckler' at a press conference for the England ladies deaf football team thinks he deserves one of their medals, since he contributed to their crowdfunding page. Entry 2 is a comic based on real-life fundraising heroes, Claire Lomas and Shaun Gash. Claire walked the London marathon in a robotic suit, raising more than £500,000 for spinal research. Shaun raised £10,000 to buy new wheelchairs for his basketball team. We followed this with a stealthy mission to pop up posters around Channel 4 HQ.

Unfortunately, neither entry was shortlisted – but there's always next year!
